You guys, Fall is here! I love Fall, don’t get me wrong, but Halloween and Thanksgiving are smacking us in the face at stores already. I’m not here to talk about the seasonal decor (not my thing) or the food (however, I could talk about food for days on end) – I’m here for the planning. Who isn’t starting to get their holiday festivities in order? Whether it’s a personal party or a corporate gathering, just thinking about the endless possibilities of spreadsheets, floor plans and schedules makes me want to do a happy dance.
While I’m consulting for an event, it’s imperative to ensure that everyone is on the same page and feels secure with the decisions – creating a harmonious atmosphere throughout the event planning and the event itself. Emotions and actions can get rocky, especially if you don’t start out on stable footing. Open communication is key, especially if something doesn’t gel during the planning process, if we need to zag instead of zig – staying open-minded and flexible will keep yourself, your family and your team in the holiday spirit (instead of frustrated and at each others throats).
When something goes wrong in your life, just yell “Plot Twist!” and move on.
